With mindfulness and sustainability at the heart of this workshop, you will learn the technique of conscious cordage making – a meditative process that supports the regulation of our nervous system through connecting our breath, hands and our heart.

What if you could weave presence and learn to slow down with every twist, every breath?

In this workshop we will upcycle and give new life to sentimental, preloved fabric or clothing items – to re-create them into wearable pieces of art.

It’s an offering for those who long to pause, to step away from the noise and return to a rhythm that feels natural, steady and true. A space where creativity meets mindfulness, where your hands lead you back to yourself.

If you have been stashing away your favourite shirt or that scarf your dear grandmother gave to you, please bring them along with you and honour them by giving them a new beginning!

This workshop is beginner friendly! It's a caring and welcoming space, inclusive to all genders, abilities and neurotypes - come as yourself with an open heart and willing hands.

What you can expect:

  • A grounding mindfulness and breath awareness practice, meditation on your textile of significance and our mother earth

  • Instruction and guidance in cordage making and embellishment of wearable art pieces.

  • Ending with a nourishing yoga nidra meditation.

  • All equipment and materials will be provided

What to bring:

We encourage you to bring a textile item from home (even saving an old T-shirt from landfill is perfect for this experience.)

However, textile pieces will be available for you to use if you do not have anything you would like to up-cycle.

Today we stand in footsteps millennia old. May we acknowledge the traditional owners whose cultures and customs have nurtured, and continue to nurture, this land, since men and women awoke from the great dream. We honour the presence of these ancestors who reside in the imagination of this land and whose irrepressible spirituality flows through all creation.

My Yoga Space pays respect to the Dharawal, Gundangurra and Darug Nations on whose land we live and work.
